Block Paving Driveways in Formby

Block Paving Driveways in Formby

Formby's pinewoods, dunes and substantial detached houses give it a different feel from the rest of Merseyside, and block paving driveways in Formby suit that setting well. Large frontages show off a laying pattern, and the sandy, free-draining ground helps rain disappear. We still build a proper compacted sub-base rather than assuming sand alone will hold a drive's shape. Blocks can be chosen in softer, natural tones to sit with trees and mature planting, and individual units can be replaced if roots or heavy vehicles cause damage later. Properties near the village centre may need a more considered choice given the area's conservation status. A short visit shows what suits your plot.

Planning block paving driveways in Formby

Pine trees drop needles and sap, and their roots can lift paving, so we look at trees close to the drive and leave sensible margins. Sandy ground drains well but compacts unevenly, so the base needs care. Streets near the village centre fall under conservation controls, so check with Sefton Council what applies at your address. Larger drives also benefit from edge restraints that hold the blocks firmly. Mention any parking limits when you enquire.
