Kerbing & Edging in Walton

Kerbing & Edging in Walton

A driveway without a decent edge slowly loses its shape. Block paving drifts, gravel spreads and tarmac frays where wheels press close to the side. Walton's terraces and wider plots both benefit from good kerbing and edging: on a narrow frontage it gives a sharp line against the wall and path, while on larger plots it separates drive from lawn and keeps borders tidy. Kerbing and edging in Walton comes in several styles, from simple concrete units to stone-effect profiles, and the best choice usually echoes the main surface. A bit of thought here pays off, because edging is one of the first details the eye picks up from the street.

Planning kerbing & edging in Walton

Edging within your own boundary is part of your driveway. The dropped kerb across the pavement is different: it belongs to the highway and needs to be arranged through Liverpool City Council, separately from our work. In Walton, where many fronts are small, haunching and foundations must avoid disturbing boundary walls and any service runs. Curves look nice on wider plots but cost more effort than straight runs, and a straight line is usually the better choice against a terraced elevation. A solid edge also protects the sub-base from washing out.
